Gold Discover Days kicks off at Plumas Eureka State Park, Johnsville on Saturday July 19 from 10 am – 3 pm featuring the acclaimed Pancake Breakfast from 8-11am.
Schedule Your Summer Plans
Take advantage of this fun-filled family day at the gorgeous and historic state park! You don’t want to miss this incredible opportunity to step back in time. You’ll get a real taste of what mining life was like, from the 1851 discovery of gold on Eureka Peak, through the 1890s.
Pioneering Spirit Comes Alive
The pioneering spirit comes alive with a bonanza of free activities for the whole family. Mining era crafts, exhibitions, artifacts, tours of the Moriarty house, draft horse wagon rides through scenic Johnsville, blacksmith shop demonstrations, homemade ice-cream making, children’s activities and gold panning are just some of the offerings. Food (BBQ lunch for purchase) and music is planned for the whole day – so bring your picnic blanket. You can even put on the period costumes provided by the event hosts and make your own family photo keepsake. There are plenty of memorable and educational activities for all ages.
